The clients wanted to modernise their Paddington home, improve flow between rooms, and introduce a premium, cohesive design. Their main goals were to update the outdated interior, create an open living space, and ensure the finishes matched a high-end London standard.
The original layout was closed off, dark, and structurally limited. Floors were uneven, the staircase was dated and damaged, and the ground floor suffered from mixed old finishes. Achieving a clean, modern result required:
• Opening structural sections safely
• Levelling subfloors
• Integrating new lighting
• Blending tile and timber floors seamlessly
• Delivering precise carpentry and decorative details
We began with full strip-out and structural adjustments, removing internal partitions to form a large open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. New electrical works were installed throughout, adding modern LED downlights and feature wall lighting.
The flooring was completely replaced — high-gloss marble-effect tiles flow from the kitchen into the hallway, meeting warm engineered oak in the living space.
The staircase was rebuilt with a mix of painted spindles and oak detailing, then finished with a premium carpet runner for comfort and acoustic benefit.
Throughout the home, new oak doors and skirting were fitted, paired with a light grey wall finish for a modern and calm aesthetic. A feature stone-clad wall was constructed in the living room, framing the media area and elevating the entire space.
In the WC, a bespoke vanity with stone basin and mosaic wall tiles created a boutique hotel feel.
The finished result is a fully modernised home with a spacious layout, premium finishes, and a cohesive design flow across all rooms. The property now feels brighter, more open, and significantly elevated in quality and value. The renovation delivered exactly what the client envisioned — a clean, stylish, and practical living environment.
