Full House Renovation – Paddington
A closed-off, dark house opened into a single kitchen, dining and living space, with the finishes brought up to a high-end London standard.
The clients wanted to modernise their Paddington home, improve the flow between rooms and introduce a premium, cohesive design. Their goals were to update an outdated interior, create an open living space, and ensure the finishes matched a high-end London standard.
The original layout was closed off, dark and structurally limited. Floors were uneven, the staircase was dated and damaged, and the ground floor carried a mix of old finishes that had accumulated over time.
Achieving a clean, modern result meant opening structural sections safely, levelling subfloors, integrating new lighting, blending tile and timber floors so the junction reads as a deliberate line, and delivering precise carpentry and decorative detail.
We began with a full strip-out and structural adjustments, removing internal partitions to form a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. New electrical works went in throughout, adding LED downlights and feature wall lighting.
The flooring was completely replaced: high-gloss marble-effect tiles flow from the kitchen into the hallway and meet warm engineered oak in the living space. The staircase was rebuilt with painted spindles and oak detailing, then finished with a carpet runner for comfort and acoustic benefit. New oak doors and skirting were fitted throughout, paired with a light grey wall finish. A stone-clad feature wall was built in the living room to frame the media area, and in the WC a bespoke vanity with a stone basin and mosaic wall tiles gives the room a boutique-hotel feel.
